LEATHERS

Our Leather

Our leather is made from vintage vegetable-tanned cowhide, crafted with care using traditional methods passed down for generations. Each hide is produced with a focus on quality, durability, and timeless character. It has medium firmness, is fold-resistant, abrasion-resistant, and maintains a tight, slightly greasy texture that’s both rich and tactile.

Naturally Unique

Every hide is different, with its own little marks, lines, and textures. The leather surface has a rich touch, moderate stiffness, and a slight sanding sensation, giving it character you can feel. Over time and with use, the leather may smoothen, darken, and develop a glossy patina, becoming an even more personal reflection of your everyday journey.

Sustainably Made

Instead of using harsh chemicals, we tan our leather with natural tannins from plants and tree bark. It’s a slower, more eco-friendly process, but it makes the leather warmer, richer, and more personal than anything mass-produced. Avoid using oil for maintenance. Instead, the leather can be polished with a soft cotton cloth to enhance its natural luster.

What is Full-Grain Leather?

It’s the strongest and most natural type of leather, with the original grain untouched. Because it’s not sanded down or coated, it’s super durable, breathes well, fold-resistant, abrasion-resistant, and ages beautifully.

Why Vegetable-Tanned Leather?

Vegetable tanning takes longer, but it’s worth it. The leather starts firm, softens with use, and develops deep colors and a natural shine over time. Its natural oils give it a rich texture and allow it to be polished lightly, avoiding the heavy chemicals used in faster tanning methods.

What Is Leather Patina?

As you use your wallet, it picks up oils from your hands, sunlight, and little marks from daily life. Instead of looking old, it gets richer, glossier, and more personal, like a leather diary of your everyday journey.
